This site was developed by me, Glenn Metzler. The website is a project intended for those looking for information on Hawaiʻi’s natural world and biodiversity and getting beyond what can be found with a simple internet search. There is much information not readily found without a lot of digging and hopefully this website helps with introductions to most of the major aspects of Hawaii biodiversity and links to further information.
I am a biologist/ecologist with a broad range of experience having worked for an environmental consulting firm, state government, and the federal government and now with a few projects under my own business. I have worked in many areas of the U.S. mainland but for the last 15 years it has been primarily in Hawaiʻi.
I was involved as a coordinator for the all-volunteer Manoa Cliff Forest Restoration site for many years. I currently work as a private biological consultant and I am the scientific editor for the journal of the Hawaiʻi Audubon Society, https://www.hawaiiaudubon.org/.
If you would like to contact me my contact is gmichaelsafe@gmail.com. Any feedback on the website including errors please let me know.
Note: Hawaiian diacriticals, which would have required extensive edits to add for all words, were generally not used in this website except when they were within a quote from another source.
